MMPVideo has completed production of a site-specific safety video for Shintech Louisiana LLC. The two-part video is designed to be viewed by visitors as a prerequisite to entry into the company's Plaquemine or Addis, LA sites, both located on the west bank of the Mississippi River near Baton Rouge. Transport drivers delivering bulk substances to the Shintech facilities are also required to view a companion video program dealing mainly with site authorizations, personal protective equipment, communications, restricted areas and offloading safety and security protocols.

Shintech Louisiana LLC manufactures polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins, caustic soda and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) along with a variety of products used in the plastics industries.

Security is managed from a series of entry checkpoints where site visitors must verify their identity and purpose of visit. Personal protective equipment is provided at security stations if the visitor is missing required items such as a hard-hat, safety glasses or escape respirator. For safety or security purposes certain items, such as ignition sources, are prohibited in production areas. When loading or offloading in remote areas of the plant site, radios are loaned to transport drivers so they can maintain voice contact with a Shintech supervisor.

Shintech sites are equipped with security monitors and an emergency notification system that alerts employees, contractors and visitors to any event that requires going immediately to the nearest designated safe shelter area.

Safety videos are consistently cited as one of the most beneficial methods for presenting complex sets of instructions, rules and regulations in an informal and relaxed manner. These videos were digitally captured and mastered to DVDs at our studio in Mandeville, Louisiana.
